Afghan women display their handicrafts in Mazar-e-Sharif

In a bid to find access to market for their products and to improve their financial situation, Afghan women in Mazar-e-Sharif have put on display their handicrafts products in one of the city’s highly-crowded marketplace.
“Twenty women will participate in the exhibition and put on display 250 various products in 20 booths,” Ata Mohammad, Head of the National Embroidery Organization.
The exhibition is held for three days in Mazar-e-Sharif’s market across from Jawzjani Business Center.
According to the Organization’s officials, women who have participated in the exhibition have learnt embroidery profession from the Organization, through which a number of them have earned 60,000 AFN monthly.
