Afghanistan, India to Co-Host Afghan Investment Conference

Afghanistan and India will co- host the Delhi Regional and International Investor’s meeting on Afghanistan on June 28.

The meeting will focus on determining ways to boos up regional investment in Afghanistan.

Representatives from Pakistan, China and Turkey are also invited to the meeting. Though the meeting is a private sector meeting, government entities are also asked to attend, as the government plays a role in further exploring and promoting investments in Afghanistan over the long term and lays down better opportunities.

The Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industries will be responsible for implementing the pledges which will be made by the attendees of the conference.
Chamber assistant CEO Atiqullah Nasrat said that the conference could determine the future goals of investment in Afghanistan.

“As this conference is going to be held ahead of the Tokyo Conference, we expect good outcomes from it. It will definitely bring a major change at the investment sector in Afghanistan,” Nasrat said.

The Chamber emphasised that the conference will focus on attracting investors to Afghanistan’s resource-rich mines.
