Afghanistan, Tajikistan ink  cooperation pacts

afghanistan-tajikistanAfghanistan and Tajikistan signed memorandum of understandings to encourage cooperation in the areas of customs, arts, culture, media and investment.

Addressing the signing ceremony of the agreements, President Hamid Karzai said the pacts signified the growing relations between the two countries.

Tajikistan President visited Afghanistan to attend the Nawroz festive, which is due to be held on 27 March, and to identify areas of cooperation and friendship between the two nations.

He assured that his country was committed to cooperate with Afghanistan in restoration of peace.

Presidents of Iran, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, India, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Armenia, the UN secretary- general and other foreign dignitaries are expected to attend the function.
