Ministry of Commerce and Industries announced Sunday that Afghanistan will soon sign agreement with countries situated along the Azure Transit Road, including Turkmenistan and Turkey.
As per the agreement, the route will give Afghanistan route access to Europe through Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, passing through Black Sea and Mediterranean Sea.
Afghanistan started working on this route, which is considered to be the easiest transit route for Afghan traders to export their goods to foreign countries, in 2010.
The concerned countries for this project had met on November 15 to discuss the implementation of the project. The next meeting on the subject is expected to take place in Georgia next month to finalize the agreement.
