Afghans to shift 80 factories from Pakistan to Kandahar

Afghan investors have decided to shift around 80 factories from Pakistan to southern Kandahar province.
The move would mark an expansion of the Afghan private sector, which is seen as the key driver of economic growth after the withdrawal of the foreign troops from Afghanistan.
The private sector investors called on the government to provide better investment opportunities including electricity and land to the businessmen in Kandahar.
According to the deputy industrial chief for Kandahar province Faiz-ul-Haq Mashwani, the establishment of the factories in Kandahar would generate employment opportunities to almost 3,000 people.
