AISA calls on donor countries to finance Afghanistan’s industrial parks

industrial park kaulAccording to the Afghan Investment Support Agency (AISA), a funding of more than USD 200mn is required for the infrastructural development projects in Afghanistan’s industrial parks.

The Agency said they are in talks with the international donors in obtaining the required funding.

This comes as the Agency has announced its plan of building infrastructure in the industrial parks that will start from Pul-e-Charkhi Industrial Park of Kabul, involving the construction of a 7km road in the park.

The officials cited mafia’s land grabbing as a major challenge in the development of industrial parks and urged the government to take stern actions and release lands grabbed by the mafias.

According to the officials, so far, more than 30 areas have been outlined for the construction of industrial parks in 18 provinces. Presently, about 12 industrial parks have been constructed in the country and they are putting in efforts to get more donors to pave the way for better infrastructure.
