Construction of two water canals begins in Samangan Province
Work on the construction of a potable water canal and an irrigation canal was inaugurated in Samangan province.
The projects are being implemented in Gul Qeshlaq Karez and Haji Mula villages of Samangan province at a total cost of 3.6mn AFN.
The funds are provided by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD), with the residents sharing 10% of the cost.
As many as 1,900 households will find access to drinkable water through the 114m-long water canal and about 7,000 hectares of agricultural lands will be irrigated by the 93m-long irrigation canal.
