DABS installs 2 new electricity transformers in Herat

Afghanistan’s electricity company, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), installed two new electricity transformers in western Herat province.
Funded by DABS, the project was implemented at a cost of 117mn AFN.
DABS CEO Abdul Razique Samadi hoped the transformers would help improve power situation in Herat, where previously only 2 transformers existed. The transformers could not meet the needs of the residents.
The new transformers have the capacity to provide 50/mw of electricity each to residents of western Herat province.
Mr. Samadi added that a new computerized billing system and revenue collection method, a project costing 6mn AFN, would be put in place win line with contemporary approach
