Department of Economics Opened in Jowzjan, North of Afghanistan

A number of government and non-government officials is preventing the implementation of development projects in the Jowzjan province. Jowzjan Governor Mohammad Alam Saai on the occasion of the inauguration of the Economics Department in Jowzjan said that there are some individuals who are obstacles to the execution of projects meant to better the economic situation of the province.

Engineer Abdul Nabi Zadah, Directory of Economy of Jowzjan, said that the building of the Department of Economics is a two-storey building built on two acres of land in accordance with international standards.

The building consists of 12 office rooms, 2 guest houses and a conference hall, which cost 9 million Afs paid from the budget of the Ministry of Economics.

Previously, the department used to operate in rented houses which made it challenging to provide services in the cities due to not having their own property.

According to the officials of the Department, this is the first building whose cost is paid by the budget of the Ministry of Economics.
