Distribution of 2 million books begins in Balkh Province
The Afghan Education Ministry has begun distribution of 2 million books for primary schools in the capital and districts of Balkh province.
Costing 60mn AFN, the books are expected to be distributed across the province in a month.
“We will soon resolve the lack of books in primary schools across the province. 2 million books will be distributed to primary schools in the capital, districts and villages,” said Abdul Aziz Azizi, Provincial Head of Education Ministry in Balkh.
The project is funded by the US government and implemented by the Information and Publication Department of the Ministry of Education.
Azizi said the plan for publication and distribution of 2.1mn books for secondary and high schools was underway.
The projects will provide access to books to over 500 thousand students.
