Domestic flight to Badakhshan launches after 3 years

East HorizonEast Horizon’ first plane, carrying 44 passengers, landed at Badakhshan airport.

Three years ago, Ariana airlines, Kam Air and Pamir cancelled their flights to Badakshan. The province received flights only from the UN and military forces.

This was the first domestic flight to Badakhshan after three years by a private airline company.

While the airline has made transportation much easier, customers have complaints about the high airfare.

“Residents of Badakhshan are relatively poor. The price of 4,400 AFN per person set by the airline is too high,” said Badakhshan governor Shah Wali Adib.

The airline flies to Badakhshan once a week.

East Horizon has been the pioneer in launching flights to Afghanistan’s provinces where other Afghan airline companies have not yet landed.
