Expansion of telecom coverage to reduce internet cost in Afghanistan

With the recent expansion in Afghanistan’s telecom coverage, Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology hopes that the internet cost would decrease.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Salaam 3G internet service and the Noori fiber optic project in Lashkargah, Helmand Minister Amirzai Sangin hinted at cut in internet costs.
Fiber optic project is operational in 22 provinces across Afghanistan and 3G service has penetrated in 24 provinces.
Lasharkgah , one of the insecure areas of Afghanistan, became the 24th province to receive 3G service and the 22nd province to witness Fiber Optic service.
Several districts in the province are still deprived of telecommunication services due to lack of security.
