Government Revenue went up by 28%

Ministry of Finance officials have reported an increase of 28% in the government revenue for the financial year 1390.

Mr. Aziz Shams, spokesperson to the Ministry of Finance, said that the revenues from 1390 have reached 98 billion Afs compared to 80.2 billion Afs in 1389.

This increase in the revenue is a result of fight against corruption and strategy plan by the Ministry of Finance, including reforms in the organizational systems, according to Mr. Shams’ statement.

He added that 50% of the revenue is generated from the customs and other various taxes.

It is anticipated that the government budget will increase by 87 billion Afs this year.

In order for the growth of this year’s budget, carrying on with the strategy plans from last year and selection of individuals with expertise in different areas with respect of fight against corruption are the plans for this year.

 Ministry of Finance announced that less than fifty percent of the regular budget and development budget is finance from foreign aid.
