Herat forms its first association of transportation companies

HEratOfficials in Herat have reported that the province’s first association of transportation companies has been established.

Consisting of 52 transportation companies, the association has already begun its operations.

“This association is aimed at enhancing transit activities and improving their quality in the province. There are currently 52 members, and we are hoping the number will grow in the near future,” said Herat’s Transportation Department Director Ahmad Javed Aimaq.

He added the association will encourage competition in the market among local companies and other companies in the region.

Before founding of the association, Herat was faced with many transit issues and challenges that were partly due to lack of coordination among the companies.
