Herat’s Dry Port Seeing a Boost in its Revenue

The income of Torghondi dry port in western Herat province has increased twofold over the past four months compared to last year’s corresponding period.

The high revenue is linked to improved administrative affairs and security in the town that allow smoother imports of fuel, gas, iron and wood from Turkmenistan through the dry port north of the wern province.

The revenue this year has increased by 260 million afghanis compared to last year’s, standing at 225 billion afs over the past four months.

Torghondi port is in western Herat province in proximity with Turkemnistan.
