Inauguration of a new building for Balkh’s economics department

According to the German Development Cooperation officials, a new building for economics department of Balkh city in Mazar-e-Sharif is inaugurated.

Built in accordance to international standards, the building consists of financial audit center, anti-corruption department and administrative training office for employees.

Proposed by the provincial department committee, the building is built in collaboration with the Regional Committee Development Fund (RCDF).

In inauguration ceremony of the building was attended by Economy Minister Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, Deputy Governor Zahir Wahdat, Director of Provincial Economics Departmetn Abdul Rahman Samadi and a number of employees from government agencies and representatives from Germany’s economic cooperation bureau.

The Department of Economics in Balkh is responsible for development and implementation of provincial reconstruction program, being the second unit of the Ministry of Economy. The Department monitors national and provincial development plans and strategies.

The RCDF have played an important role in the implementation of various development and reconstruction projects in Balkh lately.

The local officials are making efforts to bring fundamental changes in the lives of the people and in the governance with assistance from the international community.
