Increase in Oil/Gas Revenue in Baghlan

Management officials of oil and gas in Baghlan province has reported an increase of 21% in the revenues generated from oil and gas. According to Mohammad Karim Shaheen, collection of commission from oil and gas and the rents received from oil reserves have been much better compared to year 1389.

The net earnings in 1389 were USD 210 thousand, while in 1390 the net earnings stood at USD 265 thousand. Mr. Shaheed said that the office of oil and gas in Baghlan was able to implement and design 6 projects in the field of oil for the preservation of national property.

It is expected that in the next two months state oil tank number one and two will also be inaugurated in Baghlan province, which will prove to be beneficial for the government, according to Mr. Shaheen’s statement. Currently, there are 196 private oil tanks and 15 state oil tanks in the working area of oil and gas office in Baghlan that are leased to local merchants. A commission of 20 cents per liter will be a good income for the government.
