Industrial Conference and Exhibition in Herat

The Herat Industrial Union (HIU) held an exhibition of local products on May 19-21 at the Mawlana Hall in Herat province.
Nearly 65 kinds of local products were displayed in 75 booths at the exhibition.
The exhibition aimed both to highlight the successes of local manufacturing and to encourage people to use local products.
The representatives from the Economic Development and Infrastructure Office and the Office of Agriculture from the Regional Platform-West jointly visited the event.
The Deputy Director of the Union emphasized that the HIU was pleased with this exhibition and stated that this event would help people from Herat to understand what is produced in Afghanistan.
HIU emphasized that this event was supported without any financial assistance, and similar exhibitions would be conducted in the neighboring countries in future.
President Ghani has encouraged Afghan government and general public to support the use of local products rather than foreign products.
