Iran, Afghanistan willing to boost trade ties

Iran-AfgAfghanistan Commerce Ministry spokesman Wahidullah Ghazi Khail announced Monday that Kabul is interested in fostering trade ties with Tehran.

According to Mr. Ghazi Khail, Kabul has been determined to implement its agreements inked with Tehran, adding that Afghanistan is a good trade partner for all countries, including the Iran.

Ghazi Khail said that the ground is prepared for Iranian investors and businessmen to make investment in Afghanistan and urged Iranian firms to invest in various economic projects in his country.

Trade between the two neighboring nations has increased dramatically since the overthrow of the ruling Taliban militia in late 2001. Iran and Afghanistan plan on building a new rail line connecting Mashhad to Herat.
