Iran-China rail track to cross Afghanistan
A 392 kilometer rail track is to be built that goes from China to Iran, crossing through Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban development, Engineer Ali Nikzad confirmed the project in the meeting with Tajik Minister of Transportation and Communications Nizom Hakimov
Mr. Nikzad asked his Tajik counterpart to follow and present the pragmatic plots which would be studied and conducted by Iranian experts for the project.
The rail track would fascilitate a smoother trade among the neighbors-Afghanistan, Iran, China, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan- by increasing the business transactions and exports. It would also decrease the tariffs among the countries.
