Italy funds development projects in Herat

The Italian government has pledged to donate USD 300mn for funding development projects in western Herat province.
Italian Ambassador to Kabul Luciano Pezzottti said the fund would be spent on big and small uplift projects including construction of 160km road and expansion of Herat Airport.
He added that his country would also donate heavy machines to Afghan government for better extraction of marble.
