Kabul Bank Staff Strike

A number of Kabul Bank personnel pulled from working as a result of delays in their salaries and the displacement of some workers.

According to sources, the bank officials have promised to handle the demands of the bank employees, but employees insist on their demands.

Kabul Bank is the first private bank in Afghanistan. Last year, due to severe financial corruption, the bank suffered from bankruptcy.

The Central Bank then took over the responsibility and supervision of the bank and made efforts to bring some transparency in the financial transactions of the bank.

Sher Khan Farnood, Haji Khalilullah Ferozi, Haseen Fahim and Mahmood Karzai are some of the people who are accused of taking loans from the bank and have not paid back.

Yesterday, officials of the Attorney General announced that the cases of embezzlement are sent to the court.

The officials emphasized that Hamid Karzai has ordered to take the cases to the Supreme Court.
