Kabul Municipality begins asphalting work of Chehlsitoon Road

chelsitton roadWork on the asphalting of Chehlsitton Road—a 3.3km road from Baagh Chehlsitton in District 7 of Kabul city to Bagh-e-Babur—has official begun.

This comes as the residents of the area had repeatedly complained about the delay in the reconstruction of the road.

Chehlsitton encompasses a vast area of Kabul city and is home for more than 10,000 families. The Chehlsitton Road is the shortest route to commute to the city.

Funded by the Kabul Municipality, the road is reconstructed at a cost of USD 8mn and is expected to complete within 40-50 days.

In response to people’s complaints about the sluggish work on the road, Municipal Mohammad Younus Nawandish said the work was delayed due to the presence of mosques, cemeteries and acquisition homes.
