Micro hydro projects to be executed in Badakhshan, promises DABS CEO

badakhshanMicro hydro projects with enhanced capacities would be implemented in Badakhshan, as promised by Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) CEO, Abdul Razique Samadi, during his visit to Badakhshan.

According to Samadi, a micro hyrdo project would be rehabilitated in Gurm district, and two micro hydro projects, each with a capacity of 500Kv electricity, would be established in Baharak and Tagab districts.

The projects, currently in the bidding process, would be funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Samadi also added that DABS would follow up with GIZ on the establishment of a 5Mw hydro power plant in Shoraba, Faizabad.

Samadi was accompanied by Afghan Finance Minister Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal and Public Works Minister Najibullah Ozhang. The officials visited the province to launch uplift projects including an 18-km road.
