More Afghan Houses Brightened
Nearly 1,000 of families in the Paghman district of central Kabul province were extended electricity, officials said on Thursday.
The power was distributed to families in Pracha village of Pashaee valley after the installation of three transformers, which had the capacity of producing 1,000 kilovolts of electricity, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) Director Mirwais Alami told the inauguration ceremony of the power extension.
The electricity was supplied to people from the Mahipar dam in Sarobi district at the cost of 35 million afghanis, he said.
Resident Safiullah, happy over the extension of power to his village, said before they would use power generators for lightning in their houses.
“Now, we can read books , religious texts, recite holly Quran and pray in light,” another resident, Abdul Ahmad Kihani, said.
