NPC approves various contracts worth 490mn AFN

The National Procurement Commission (NPC) approved six contracts worth 490mn AFN on Monday.

The contracts approved included installation and activation of the second turbine of Kajaki Dam, procurement of one million digital passports, stationery and constructions materials for Ministry of Defense and materials for dormitories of Ministry of Higher Education.

The Commission also terminated contracts of Almar, Muchalgho and Pashdan dams that were previously awarded for further review and improvements.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani assigned Ministry of Energy and Water to manage the procurement process for the above mentioned dams and resolve the issues in the contract.

It was also decided that contracting companies who were negligent in their works would be fined.
