Over 4000 families benefit from development projects in Kunar province

Over 4000 families in various communities have benefited from development projects which were recently completed in Dar-e-pech, Nurgal, Sarkani and Narang districts of Kunar province.
Costing AFN 44,811,000, the projects are implemented by the National Solidarity Program (NSP) which works within the framework of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD).
According to NSP Provincial Manager in Kunar province, these development projects encompass the construction of a protection wall 1,978 meters in length, a 20,266-meter pathway, a 2,500-meter rural road, 64 public lavatories, extension of a 5,598-meter water supply network and excavation of 63 wells.
Since its inception in Kunar province, the NSP has been able to execute 2,112 development projects in different sectors including transport, water and sanitation, irrigation, power, livelihoods, education, etc while the work of another 203 is currently in progress.
