Poland and Afghanistan signs cooperation agreement

Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul signed a cooperation agreement with his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski in the areas of politics, security, culture, science and the economy.

Mr. Sikorski gave his assurance that his country would stand by Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the forces.

“We want Afghanistan to be a constitutional democracy and to be a stable source for solving of the region’s problems rather than a source of problems itself.”

Mr. Rassoul urged his Polish counterpart to invest in Afghanistan, especially in the mining sector.

“In my last trip to Poland, I asked Polish investors to come to Afghanistan and assess the investment opportunities here,” said Rassoul.
