Poor human capital a major challenge to Afghan government-Vice President Mohammad Karim Khalili

karim khaliliVice President Mohammad Karim Khalili called on the government to work towards improving human capital in the country.

He cited poor human capital as a major challenge to the development of the country after security.

“Despite improvement in workforce, Afghan government still faces acute shortages of skilled workers,” said Mr. Khalili.

Speaking in a three-day workshop by the Ministry of Public Health, Mr. Khalili also criticized the uneven provision of health services in various areas of the country.

In response, Public Health Minister Dr. Soraya Dalil blamed security problems and political intervention in personnel recruitment for the uneven provision of health services.
