President Ghani plans to attend Heart of Asia Summit in China

President Ashraf Ghani plans to attend the 14th Heart of Asia Summit in China, which will make it his first trip abroad since taking office.
The Summit comprises of representatives from Afghanistan, Azerbaija, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The 14th Summit is due to be held next week for two days in Beijing, China.
Ambassadors of various regional countries met in Kabul on Thursday to review Afghanistan’s draft declaration for the Summit.
The Summit will seek to bring together the regional countries for greater economic and political ties.
Afghan pundits believe the Summit would serve as opportune platform for President Ghani to work on fostering ties between Afghanistan and China.
