Qatar to reconstruct Nangarhar’s earthquake-damaged houses

Qatari government has allocated USD 10mn for reconstruction of houses that were damaged in recent earthquake in eastern Nangarhar province.

An agreement to that effect was signed between Red Cross of Qatar and Natural Disaster Department of Nangarhar.

The money will go towards reconstruction of houses in Behsood, Rodat and Kama districts.

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake jolted eastern and northeastern Afghanistan on 26 October damaging thousands of homes and leaving at least 600 people killed and wounded.
