Russia Underscored to Continue its Support to Afghanistan
Russian State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin in his meeting with the Head of Afghanistan’s Upper House, Fazl Aadi Muslimyar, emphasized on his country’s continuous support to Afghanistan.
“Russia’s emergency department has previously helped Afghanistan with 3,000 tons of wheat,” said Mr. Naryshkin.
Mr. Naryshkin welcomed the Afghan government’s efforts to provide security in the region and called Afghanistan a significant partner in maintaining security in the region.
He emphasized on the need for armed forces in Afghanistan in order to be able to remain dominant in the country without the help of external forces.
Mr. Muslimyar expressed thanks to Russia for its humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and expressed his condolences to the victims of the recent flood disaster in Russia.
“Afghanistan is situated in the heart of Asia, hence everyone should protect this country in order to assure that the ‘heart’ is safe and that it can function properly. We believe that security in Afghanistan actually means security of the entire continent. We, therefore, request our international partners to help us in fighting terrorism and combating drug trafficking,” said Mr. Muslimyar.
