Taloqan city to have its first parking lot

taloqanTaloqan, Takhar’s capital city, will have its first ever parking lot, said officials.

“The parking lot will cover 200 square meters of land, with space enough to fit 90 vehicles. The project will be completed in the next three months,”said Municipal of the city Agha Gul Qataghani.

Costing 7mn AFN, the project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Lack of a proper parking lot was a major cause of the traffic congestion in Taloqan city.

According to the officials, USAID has pledged to fund three more development projects in Taloqan city.

Some of the previous projects funded by the USAID included cleaning of the city and construction of an industrial park in Takhar province.

Situated in Northern Afghanistan, Takhar has witnessed implementation of various uplift schemes in the past few years.
