Toyota resumes all operations in China as protests ease

A number of Japanese companies had halted their operations in China, as many Chinese held demonstrations against Japan for buying islands in the East China Sea, that both countries claim.

Toyota, whose dealerships were attacked and production at plants were suspended, reported that it has resumed all its operations.

Reports said Honda had resumed some production in China on Friday.

Other Japanese companies affected include the electronics company Sony, and the shopping chain stores Aeon and Uniqlo Apparel, a subsiduary of Fast Retailing.
