Trust fund for Afghan football team established in Kabul

Speaking at an event on the appreciation of the Afghan national football team, Afghan Finance Minister Dr. Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal regarded national unity and solidarity important for the country’s development and on behalf of the government called on local businessmen to support the football team.
The event was organized by the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) to appreciate the Afghan national football team for bringing home the first international championship cup, the South Asian Football Federation Championship, in the history of Afghanistan.
“A board has been established to supervise and control the trust fund that is set up to ensure continuous financial support to the Afghan national football team,” said Kiramuddin Kiram, Head of the Afghanistan Football Federation.
The board consists of: Kirmauddin Kiram, Parliamentarian Shukriya Barekzai, Afghan Premier League Commissioner, Afghan national football team Mohammad Yousuf Kargar and Head of the ACCI, Mohammad Qurban Haqjo.
A number of investors showed their support at the event and contributed to the trust fund.
- Azizi Bank contributed 1 million AFN
- Dr. Feraidoon Noorzad, Head of the Maiwand Bank, contributed 2.5 million AFN
- Haji Ismail Ghazanfar, Head of the Ghazanfar Group of companies, contributed 2 million AFN
- Abdul Ghafar Dawi contributed USD 50,000
- Zemrai Kamgar, Head of Kam Air, contributed USD 30,000
- MTN contributed 1 million AFN
- Head of the Khorsheed TV contributed 1 million AFN
- Afghanistan Commercial Bank contributed 1 million AFN
