Uplift projects worth USD 13mn to be implemented in Nangarhar

Uplift projects benefitting thousands of families in Surkhrod and Behsud districts of eastern Nangarhar province will be implemented with financial collaboration from the Japanese government.
A contract to that effect was signed between Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) head Abdul Khaliq Farahi and UNOPS chief today.
The schemes include health clinics, schools and road gravelling.
According to the Pajhwok Afghan News (PAN), Japan has so far spent USD 21mn under the supervision of IDLG in Afghanistan.
