The inauguration of a new building for the Department of Public Work was held in central Uruzgan province on Sunday.
Governor Amir Mohammad Akhundzada said the project is funded by the Ministry of Finance and cost 4.8mn AFN.
Constructed on five acres of land in six months, the building has a dozen offices, a kitchen and several bathrooms, according to the governor, who said the department previously operated in a rented house.
Akhundzada also laid the foundation stone of the department’s warehouse that is being funded by Australia. The $200,000 project would be executed in six months.
