USD 250,000 stolen from New Kabul Bank

New Kabul BankAccording to reports, 14 million AFN (about USD 250,000) was stolen from a branch of New Kabul Bank in the Baraki area of Kabul city.

The staff members behind the robbery have been identified. Two of the three accused staff of the bank have been arrested, said Kabul Police Chief Gen. Mohammad Zaher Zaher.

“We will soon arrest the third member as well,” assured Gen. Zaher.

According to Tolo News, one of the men was said to be a member of the branch’s technical staff and managed to disable all the electronic equipment at the branch, including its security system, allowing the thieves to enter the bank undetected.
