Eurozone risks spillover to China

The International Monetary Fund says that the Eurozone crisis is a key external risk to China’s growth.

China‘s economy is expanding at an annualized rate of 7.6% in the three months to the end of June.

China’s economy is expected to grow  by 8% in the current financial year, however, due to the worsening situation of the Eurozone, the rate may be cut by half.

“Assuming no policy response in China, growth could decline by as much as four percentage points in response to a one and three quarter percentage point slowdown in global growth,” the fund said.
