Afghan national cricket team books itself a place in 2014 T20 World Cup

Afghanistan’s national cricket team booked berth in ICC World Twenty20 World Cup 2014 after winning six consecutive matches in the qualifier matches.
In their last match against Kenya, Afghanistan won by 34 runs in Sharjah on Sunday.
Kenya had to chase a target of 149 runs and were all out after scoring 114 runs in 18 overs.
Afghan batsman Noor Ali Zadran scored the highest, securing 50 runs in 81 balls. On the balling side, Samiullah Shinwari managed to take 5 wickets by giving only 13 runs in 4 overs, which helped to restrict the Kenyan batsmen from chasing the target.
The Afghanistan cricket board chief executive, Dr. Noor Mohammad Murad, welcomed the outstanding performance by Afghan cricketers in ICC World T20 qualifier.
